Matsuyama Castle
One of only 12 remaining castle towers in Japan
Matsuyama Castle is one of Japan's three largest joint-type flatland castles, standing on Katsuyama in the center of Matsuyama. Many of the buildings are designated as important cultural properties of Japan, and the castle is famous for its cherry blossoms in spring. At the foot of the mountain is the tranquil Ninomaru Historical Garden.

Matsuyama Castle Ropeway
Matsuyama Castle stands at an altitude of 132m
Next to the hotel, just a few minutes walk down Ropeway Street, you will find the ropeway lift to the inner citadel of Matsuyama Castle. A Madonna dressed in a hakama will guide you on the ropeway.

Dogo Onsen
Dogo Onsen, the oldest hot spring in Japan
Dogo Onsen is a famous hot spring with alkaline simple hot springs. The main building has been designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. In the surrounding area, you will also find the "Botchan" mechanical clock and the footbath at Hojoen. Please enjoy the townscape that exudes the scent of history and literature.

Clouds Above the Hill Museum
A museum themed on Ryotaro Shiba's novel "Clouds Above the Hill"
A modern building made of concrete and glass, designed by Tadao Ando, this new museum follows the lives of three Matsuyama natives: the haiku poet Masaoka Shiki, Army General Akiyama Yoshifuru, and Navy Vice Admiral Akiyama Saneyuki, and conveys the message of Ryotaro Shiba, from the Meiji period to modern times, allowing visitors to Matsuyama to feel and contemplate the passage of time here.

Bansuiso
A French-style Western-style building that conveys the romance of the Taisho era to the present day, a source of pride for Japan
Bansuiso was built in 1922 as a villa by Count Sadakoto Hisamatsu, a descendant of the former lord of Matsuyama. At the time, it was the most popular social venue, attracting notables from all walks of life, and was a place that members of the imperial family would always stop by when they visited the prefecture.

Botchan Train
The "Botchan Train" runs through Matsuyama city, delighting tourists.
The Botchan Train, which once carried Shiki, Soseki, and many other people, has been a popular train on the Matsuyama Plain from the Meiji period to the mid-Showa period, and is now back in the castle town of the 21st century. It even passes in front of the hotel.

Road in the Sky
The joy of running through the sky
Prefectural Route 383 runs east to west for about 25km through the Shikoku Karst, also known as the "Switzerland of Japan." The road leads to the deep blue sky, with the ridges of the mountains in the distance visible, and the sky feels so close that you could reach out and touch the clouds. The spectacular views have led to the road being selected as one of Japan's 100 most scenic roads.
