There are "emission reduction" activities that reduce CO2 emissions themselves through the development and use of renewable energy, and "forest absorption" activities that promote the absorption of CO2 from the atmosphere through reforestation and forest protection, and the amount of CO2 reduced or absorbed through these activities is traded on the market as "credits." By purchasing credits for the amount of CO2 emissions that are unavoidable, businesses can move closer to carbon neutral. As part of its SDGs activities, Sapporo TOKYU HOTELS has obtained a "carbon offset" certificate to offset a portion of the CO2 emitted in its business activities in support of Shimokawa Town's activities.

We have introduced straws made from pineapple leaves. These straws are made from a biodegradable natural material that combines the residue (cellulose) that is produced when extracting fiber from leaves that are left behind and discarded in the fields after fruit harvest, and PLA (polylactic acid/corn starch).

ARAS has issued its own "Sustainable Declaration" to protect the future of food. They are working to address the environmental issues of disposable plastics and the SDGs by reducing petroleum-based materials by more than 20% during production, making their products extremely durable and unbreakable, and being almost 100% recyclable by using only a single material.

Some amenities are made from Kaneka's "GreenPlanet material," which is 100% biomass-based and biodegradable even in seawater. In addition, SAPPRRO STREAM HOTEL suites also feature coasters made from thinned wood and eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes.

We have switched from PET bottles to aluminum cans, which are a recycled material, and have adopted aluminum cans, which are said to be an environmentally friendly material, with the aim of eliminating plastic. They are environmentally friendly label-less (direct printing) specifications. By collecting and recycling aluminum cans, we will reduce waste, reconsider disposable consumption, and promote resource and energy conservation.

We will no longer provide free mineral water in guest rooms and will instead install water servers on each floor. We have provided eco-cups, "Forest Tumblers," in guest rooms for you to use as cups to carry your water.

Some rooms are equipped with Nespresso coffee makers, allowing you to enjoy authentic coffee. We participate in Nespresso's aluminum capsule recycling campaign, and used capsules are reused repeatedly.

It is on sale at the SAPPORO STREAM HOTEL SHOP. It is made from recycled PET polyester fabric, a material made from recycled PET bottles, and can be used repeatedly. By reusing PET bottles to produce recycled fabric, we are reducing our dependence on petroleum, which is used as a raw material for regular polyester, as well as the water, chemicals, energy, and carbon dioxide emissions required for production.

The hotel works with a local Sapporo company to turn food waste (kitchen waste) generated within the hotel into feed for chickens, contributing to the effective use of food waste and improving the hotel's feed self-sufficiency rate.

The chickens thrive in a harsh environment with temperatures ranging from 30°C in summer to -30°C in winter, with a temperature difference of 60°C. The chickens' health is also a top priority, and enzymes and lactic acid bacteria are added to their feed to produce safe, secure and delicious eggs.

Hokkaido Annual Festival (Sapporo Festival) is held every June. The gods enshrined at Hokkaido are carried in a portable shrine and paraded around the area.
Floats from all over the city and citizens dressed in Heian period costumes parade through the streets in a long procession to the tune of "Peeharadondon♪."

Levanga Hokkaido is a professional basketball team born in 2011 at Hokkaido. The team name is the upside-down word for "Ganbare". It represents the team's pledge to continue to be a team that the people of the province cheer "Ganbare" for.

SAPPORO STREAM HOTEL supports Hokkaido Consadole, the only J-League club in Hokkaido (Sapporo), and will work together with them to liven up Hokkaido.
