Great Seto Bridge
A beautiful landscape in harmony with the Seto Inland Sea
The total length of the Great Seto Bridge is over 9,367m. It is the second longest road and railway bridge in the world and is said to be an object of art that brings together the best of Japan's bridge-building technology and wisdom. It connects the five islands between Sakaide and Kojima with six bridges of various types, including suspension bridges, cable-stayed bridges, truss bridges, and viaducts. The cable-stayed bridge is particularly impressive for its elegant appearance, resembling a swan spreading its wings.

Takamatsu Central Shopping District
Takamatsu Central Shopping Street is the longest shopping street in Japan.
Takamatsu Central Shopping District is a shopping district with history and tradition that has flourished as the center of the castle town of Takamatsu Castle, which was built about 400 years ago. There are eight unique shopping districts: Hyogomachi, Kataharamachi West, Kataharamachi East, Lion Street, Marugamemachi, Minami-Shinmachi, Tokiwamachi, and Tamachi. They form a continuous arcade street with a total length of 2.7 km, said to be the longest in Japan, and together with Chuo-dori, lined with office buildings, they are bustling as the face of the commercial city of Takamatsu.

Ritsurin
With seasonal flowers blooming throughout the year, the scenery is so beautiful that it is said that "one step is a beautiful sight."
This is a stroll-style garden with a pond that was completed over a period of more than 100 years by successive feudal lords of Takamatsu Domain, dating back approximately 370 years. Designated as a special national scenic spot, the garden, which consists of six ponds and 13 artificial hills with Mt. Shiun as a backdrop, is not only exquisitely designed, but is also so beautiful that it is said that "one step is a beautiful view" with seasonal flowers blooming throughout the year. In spring, the trees sprout and the cherry blossoms bloom all at once, painting the surrounding landscape in a pale pink.

Red Lighthouse
The world's first all-glass lighthouse, the "Red Lighthouse"
A commercial district located north of JR Takamatsu Station.
Ferries and high-speed boats travel to and from the islands from Takamatsu Port.
The symbol of Sunport Takamatsu, the red lighthouse, commonly known as "Setoshirube," is the world's first glass lighthouse, standing 14 meters tall. It continues to protect the safety of the seas, both today and in the past.

Tamamo Park
A rare water castle in Japan

Kotohira Shrine
Kotohira Shrine, popularly known as "Sanuki's Konpira-san"
Kintohira Shrine, known as "Sanuki no Konpira Mr./Ms.", is famous as the god of the sea. When you climb the 785 long stone steps, you will be greeted by the Gohongu Shrine as if you were tired so far. Even today, the familiar Golden Sword Hira Shrine, which is familiar to ordinary people all over the country, has no time to stop being human. From the Gohongu Shrine, which sits halfway up the mountain, you can see the impressive Sanuki Plain below, including Sanuki Fuji. The scenery seen by the people who visited Konpira, which was a dream of the common people in the past, still spreads today.

Sacred site "Okuboji Temple"
Okuboji Temple, the sacred site of the 88 sacred sites of Shikoku
Okuboji Temple, the last temple on the pilgrimage, is also known as the "Ketsuganji Temple" (end of wishes), as it is a temple where wishes are granted. Located at the foot of Mt. Yahazu (788m), there is a stone monument reading "88th end of wishes" beside the stone steps leading up to the temple, which is deeply moving for worshippers. When you pass through the Nitenmon Gate, you will see the main hall directly ahead. If you go underground from the inner entrance of the Daishi Hall, you will find all 88 temples' principal images, and you can step on the sand.

Head temple Zentsuji
The birthplace of Kobo Daishi
Temple No. 75 of the 88 Shikoku Pilgrimage. The birthplace of Kobo Daishi and the head temple of the Zentsuji school of the Shingon sect. Known as the birthplace of Kobo Daishi, it is the first main training center of the Shingon sect. It is one of the three great sacred sites of Kukai, and is home to national treasures and a large camphor tree connected to Kukai, and retains the layout of the temple buildings from the time of its founding. Along with Kongobu-ji Temple in Mount Koya and To-ji Temple in Kyoto, it is one of the three great sacred sites of Daishi.

Angel Road (Angel's Walkway)
Lover's Sanctuary
Angel Road is a sandy road that appears from the sea twice a day at low tide. It is a romantic place where it is said that if you cross it holding hands with your loved one, an angel will descend in the middle of the sandbar and grant your wish. It is known as a "sacred place for lovers."
It was also used as a filming location for the movies "My Yellow Bicycle with Mom" and "Pirate Story of the Setouchi."

Olive Park
The first Olive garden in Japan to successfully cultivate Olive

Twenty-four Eyes Movie Village
The world of that famous painting is here
A small village from the Taisho and early Showa periods has appeared on a site of about 10,000 square meters along the coast overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. This was a remodeled open set used for the location shooting of the movie "Twenty-Four Eyes," where that famous scene was shot. There is a wooden school building, a male teacher's house, a fisherman's house, a teahouse, a souvenir shop... In addition, the Tsuboi Sakae Literature Museum exhibits the furnishings that Tsuboi Sakae used during her lifetime, as well as the original manuscripts of each of her works, and the movie theater "Shochikuza" regularly screens "Twenty-Four Eyes."

Marukin Soy Sauce Memorial Museum
The building is registered as a national tangible cultural property and teaches the history and manufacturing methods of soy sauce.
Shodoshima is one of the leading soy sauce producing areas in Japan. The gassho-style building next to the Marukin Soy Sauce factory, which was founded in 1907, clearly explains how soy sauce is made from the ingredients. The aroma of soy sauce that fills the building may make you yearn for rice.
Valuable materials such as old soy sauce-making tools and scrolls detailing soy sauce production methods from the Edo period are also on display.

Zenigata Sand Painting (Kotobiki Park)
A gigantic sand painting measuring 122m east to west, 90m north to south, and 345m in circumference.
Kotohiki Park, which is also part of the Setonaikai National Park, has been designated as a national scenic spot. There is a sand painting of the Kan'ei Tsūhō coin within the park, and the white sand and green pine of Ariake Beach and the beautiful pine-lined view from the top of Kotohiki Mountain are highlights. Kotohiki Park, a scenic spot of about 48 hectares, includes Kotohiki Hachiman Shrine, Jin'ei-in Temple, Kannon-ji Temple, and more, and is dotted with famous historical sites. Cherry blossoms, azaleas, wisterias, and camellias decorate the area around Kotobashira Pond throughout the seasons.

Yashima
One of the best views of the Seto Inland Sea
Yashima, which juts out into the Seto Inland Sea like a table, is one of the best viewing spots in the area. Below you can see the Dannoura battlefield, which is full of the sorrowful atmosphere of the Genpei War, Mt. Goken, and the evening view of Takamatsu City as it sinks into the Seto Inland Sea. The mountaintop is home to Yashima-ji Temple, the 84th temple on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, and the Yashima Aquarium, where you can see the sea lion show.
