The bright red Port Tower and the Maritime Museum, which is modeled after a sailing ship, are the symbols of Meriken Park. The beautiful illumination is a representative night view of Kobe. The Kobe Port Earthquake Memorial Park, which vividly depicts the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, is also located in the northeastern part of the park.

The museum has a collection of over 10,000 pieces, including works by artists with ties to Hyogo Prefecture, such as Ryohei Koiso and Heizo Kanayama. It holds "Special Exhibitions" showcasing masterpieces from Japan and abroad, theme exhibitions of the collection, and "Collection Exhibitions," small planned exhibitions focusing on works from outside the museum. There is also the "Ando Gallery," which showcases Ando's projects.

It is a tourist spot representing Kobe, full of exotic atmosphere with western-style buildings from England, Germany, Holland, etc. Among them, the representative Weathercock House and Uroko House are crowded with tourists all year round.
