Shinminato Bridge
Enjoy the spectacular views while driving across the largest cable-stayed bridge on the Sea of Japan side!
The Shinminato Bridge is the largest cable-stayed bridge on the Japan seaside that spans the Toyama New Port in Imizu City, Toyama, which opened in September 2012.
It is a remarkable bay area with the Kaiomaru Park where the sailing ship Kaio Maru was moored and the Shinminato Sureki Market nearby.

World Heritage Gokayama
A Gassho-style village registered as a World Heritage Site
It was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in December 1995. The thatched roof houses known as "Gassho-zukuri" are a very precious style of private house that exists only in Gokayama and Shirakawa-go, and do not exist anywhere else in Japan. There are 23 Gassho-zukuri houses remaining in the Ainokura Gassho-zukuri Village, which is registered as a World Heritage Site, and 9 Gassho-zukuri houses in Suganuma Gassho-zukuri Village, but most of them are about 100 to 200 years old, and the oldest one is said to have been built 400 years ago.

A luxurious structure made with materials from all over the country
A nationally designated Important Cultural Property that preserves the history of the Kitamae-bune ships. The Mori House was built around 1878, over a period of three years, using wealth collected from various regions through trade with the Kitamae-bune ships. It is a house in a style unique to Iwase, and is a representative example of the Higashi-Iwase Kaisenmon-type town house. It is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, and is a luxurious structure that uses materials from all over Japan, including Yakusugi wooden doors, Noto black pine beams, and an earthen-floored corridor made from a huge single rock from Shodoshima.

National Treasure Zuiryuji Temple

Takaokasan Zuiryuji Temple is the family temple of Takaoka's founder, Maeda Toshinaga, and a famous Soto Zen temple. Built by the third feudal lord, Maeda Toshitsune, the temple is overwhelming in its grandiose and elegant beauty with its magnificent layout. The mountain gate, Buddha hall, and lecture hall were the first in the prefecture to be designated as national treasures.
