TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD., Ltd. has decided to take advantage of its launch on April 1, 2023 by focusing on improving the treatment of young employees and skilled professionals, and to implement wage revisions of up to 7%, raising starting salaries, and providing lump-sum living support payments.
The latest revision will see a uniform base pay increase of 8,000 to 10,000 yen for full-time employees aged 30 or younger. The combined amount of the wage revision and base pay increase will be an average of over 7% for general employees aged 23, amounting to 15,000 yen. Meanwhile, the period for age-based pay increases, which previously saw uniform pay increases up to age 35, will be changed to pay increases up to age 30. For mid-level employees aged 31 and over, the ratio of allowances based on position and qualifications to performance-linked compensation will be increased to improve the standard of treatment and encourage active career development.
In addition, starting salaries for new graduates in 2024 will be increased by 8,000 to 10,000 yen, the same as the base increase, and the starting salary for university graduates will be 219,000 yen including various allowances (example for the Tokyo metropolitan area). In addition, the "skill allowance," which will be paid separately according to the qualifications held, will be increased by 3,000 to 5,000 yen per month for those who hold applicable qualifications such as sommelier or Eiken*, and will be expanded to newly include chef qualifications. Furthermore, in response to rising prices and living costs, a "lump-sum living support grant" of 100,000 yen will be paid to all employees.
This wage revision and lump-sum payment is a company effort to respond to the intensifying competition for talent across the hotel industry, where the market environment is recovering rapidly, and to support the company in light of the current rise in prices. For TOKYU HOTELS & Resorts, which was established as a company specializing in the contract management of hotels and resort facilities, human resources with diverse abilities and skills are its most important management resource, and the company will further focus on investing in and developing its human resources while striving to further improve profitability. By linking the career development and skill development of individual employees to improved customer satisfaction, the company aims to grow as a hotel management company that is chosen not only by customers, but also by clients considering hotel management and investment.
