TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD. (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo; President and CEO: Jun Murai) has signed a sponsorship contract with professional golfer Miyu Yamashita. This is the first sponsorship contract the company has signed with a professional athlete since it was established as the core company in the hotel and resort business management of the Tokyu Corporation Group.

Yamashita, a native of Osaka, started playing golf at the age of 5 while accompanying her father's practice, and has since walked the path to becoming a golfer with her family. Through daily practice, she has achieved remarkable results since her student days, and after passing the professional test in November 2019, she has been active, winning top prizes from the following season. In 2021, she broke the tournament record and won her first championship, making an instant leap to become a top professional. In the 2022 season, she won a domestic major, set a new tour record for the fewest strokes, and became the first Japanese player to score in the 60s in a year, and was named the annual prize money queen.

We are impressed not only by Yamashita's ability and potential, but also by his single-minded efforts to always strive to be the best, as well as his devoted parents who continue to support him and his siblings who are also devoted to golf. In response, we have decided to support his activities by providing accommodation and other support.
