THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA BY KYOTO TOKYU HOTEL signs contract with Pan Pacific Hotels Group

THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA BY KYOTO TOKYU HOTEL
Signed a contract with the Pan Pacific Hotels Group
Promoting a global marketing strategy from January 2025

TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD.

TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD. (Shibuya Ward Tokyo; President and CEO: Jun Murai) has concluded a soft branding agreement with the Pan Pacific Hotels Group for THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA BY KYOTO TOKYU HOTEL (Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City; General Manager: Terue Ogawara; hereinafter referred to as "THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA"), which it operates in Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto City, on July 26, 2024. Based on this agreement, the company will begin promoting a marketing strategy from January 10, 2025 with the aim of increasing awareness of the hotel in the global market.

THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA is located in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto, home to many cultural and artistic facilities, and is a hotel with easy access to the famous temples and shrines scattered around the area. It opened in July 2022 with the concept of "The pinnacle of Kyoto, residing in the East." The hotel offers unique experiences and high-quality hospitality, including the cultural experience program "Kyoto Iroha," which allows you to experience the Japanese spirit and aesthetic sense that lives in Kyoto on a deeper level, and is used as a new travel base for tourists visiting from both Japan and abroad.

The contract we have just signed with Pan Pacific Hotels Group (Headquarters: Republic of Singapore, CEO: Choe Peng Sum) is a "soft brand contract" like the ones we have signed with BELLUSTAR TOKYO, A Pan Pacific Hotel and HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU, A PARKROYAL Hotel, which we operate in Shinjuku, Tokyo. This is a unique contract between the two companies that will allow us to make the most of the brand power of the Pan Pacific Hotels Group in the global market and its ability to attract customers from its wide membership network, while also leveraging the operational know-how we have cultivated to date, and was concluded based on the track record and effectiveness of our partnership with the two hotels in Shinjuku.
Following on from BELLUSTAR TOKYO, THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA will be developed under the Pan Pacific brand. One of the features of the membership organization of the Pan Pacific Hotels Group is that it offers member benefits in the form of unique activities that take advantage of the local characteristics of the travel destination. This is highly compatible with the hotel's cultural initiatives to date, and we are confident that it will become a destination hotel of choice for the more than 27 million members around the world. We will continue to provide unchanging experiential value, such as a stay that allows you to feel the identity of Kyoto, the ancient capital in which the hotel is rooted, and a unique cultural experience that allows you to feel the beauty and sophistication that continues to evolve based on traditional techniques, and through "Kyoto no Kiwami," we will open the door to discovering new charms to a wider world.
The hotel is scheduled to change its name to "THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA KYOTO TOKYU, A Pan Pacific Hotel" when it begins operations based on the contract from January 10, 2025. We will continue to develop our business and promote the creation and dissemination of the area's attractions by operating hotels with deep roots and understanding of the local area while promoting various initiatives, including partnerships with global hotel chains.

Comment from the representative
Jun Murai, President and CEO TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD.

"We are very pleased to be partnering with Pan Pacific Hotels Group to open our third hotel, following the two we opened at Tokyu Kabukicho Tower last year. We believe that the core values and vision of the Pan Pacific Hotels Group are very similar to our company's purpose and philosophy, and we hope that by combining our two companies, we can develop an even better brand for our customers and the local community."
We will now open our doors to the world as a place where we can deliver to our guests the unique experiences, traditional beauty and culture that the hotel has cherished since its opening.
Through this partnership, we hope to deliver the profound charm of this charming city to guests visiting Kyoto from all over the world and provide them with a fulfilling experience.

Choe Peng Sum, CEO, Pan Pacific Hotels Group

We are pleased to expand our partnership with TOKYU HOTELS & RESORTS CO., LTD., Ltd. by adding THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA to the Pan Pacific Hotels Group's portfolio of hotels, resorts and serviced suites. Since adding BELLUSTAR TOKYO, A Pan Pacific Hotel and HOTEL GROOVE SHINJUKU, A PARKROYAL Hotel to our portfolio last year, we have been able to promote both hotels globally through our strong sales and brand platform, and will now be able to introduce the beauty of both Kyoto and THE HOTEL HIGASHIMAYA KYOTO TOKYU, A Pan Pacific Hotel.

We have reached our second anniversary since opening, thanks to the patronage of many customers, including the local community. I would like to express my sincere gratitude. Kyoto, the city where I was born and raised and where I am familiar, has many wonderful charms, and I myself discover new charms every day through communication with customers and local residents. I am very happy that this contract will enable us to promote our hometown of Kyoto to the world more widely than ever before, and I am excited to meet new customers.
