Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Tokyu Hotels sign consulting contract for recruiting foreign talent - Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and TOKYU HOTELS form hotel business alliance -

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd.
TOKYU HOTELS Co., Ltd.

Lines, Ltd. ("MOL") and TOKYU HOTELS Co., Ltd. (" TOKYU HOTELS") have concluded a consulting business alliance agreement regarding the recruitment of foreign personnel for TOKYU HOTELS' hotel business.

As the COVID-19 pandemic gradually takes hold and travel demand is rapidly expanding, securing and developing human resources has become a challenge for the hospitality industry. Through this partnership, MOL will support TOKYU HOTELS in securing the human resources essential for their business development.

MOL utilizes its experience and knowledge cultivated over many years in training foreign seafarers to develop a foreign human resources consulting business that trains and introduces personnel from a wide range of industries to companies considering new recruitment or expansion of recruitment of foreign personnel. Meanwhile, TOKYU HOTELS is a hotel management company that operates a total of 53 hotels in Japan and overseas, with more than 14,000 rooms. Through this partnership, MOL will accurately grasp TOKYU HOTELS' recruitment plans and introduce personnel with the necessary skills, providing comprehensive support from recruitment to employment.

This is the first time that MOL has formed a business partnership with a hotel operator for the introduction of foreign personnel. Through this partnership, MOL aims to utilize foreign labor in the entire service industry, which is facing a significant labor shortage due to Japan's predicted low birthrate, aging population, and decline in the working-age population.
This is the first time that TOKYU HOTELS has partnered with a company to provide comprehensive support for foreign talent, from introduction to employment. In light of the importance of international tourism in Japan and the increase in foreign tourists, the company will continue to work toward strengthening its competitiveness in the accommodation industry and securing and nurturing talent to provide hospitality services that can flexibly accommodate the diversifying lifestyles of its customers.
Lines, which has a strong track record in introducing foreign personnel, and TOKYU HOTELS, which operates a wide range of hotel businesses both domestically and overseas, will form a business alliance to utilize each other's strengths, connect workers and companies across borders, and contribute to resolving labor shortages in Japan's service industry and the sustainable development of local communities.

Expected benefits of this partnership

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines

Through this partnership, the hotel industry will be able to learn about the skills, work experience, working arrangements, living environments, etc. of foreign personnel required, which will enable the company to expand its foreign personnel introduction business to other hospitality businesses such as accommodation, dining, and nursing care.

Tokyu Hotels

MOL will be able to select the right candidates from its wide range of foreign talent and hire the required number of employees. Filipino talent, which is MOL's particular strength, is said to be highly suited to hospitality and service work. MOL's ability to provide Japanese language education and understanding of Japanese culture in advance through training will reduce the burden of language education and life support after employment, and is expected to lead to smoother integration between employees.

Employed

Through TOKYU HOTELS' domestic and international network, we can expect to match you with a wide variety of jobs, positions, and work locations, enabling you to have longer-term, stable employment.
