The "Kyoto Bread Festival at Kamigamo Shrine" is an event that was first held in 2015 as part of the celebrations for the Kamigamo Shrine Shikinen Sengu ceremony, which takes place once every 21 years. At this event, many famous shops, including local bakeries and hotels, set up stalls within the grounds of Kamigamo Shrine.

This is one of Kyoto's largest bread events, where you can enjoy delicious bread while experiencing the history of Kamigamo Shrine, a World Heritage Site that Kyoto is proud of. KYOTO TOKYU HOTEL Hotel has participated in this event since the second event and supports the local bread culture.

At the 2023 event, KYOTO TOKYU HOTEL Hotel will sell three products: "Rustic sandwich with homemade pate" and "Blueberry bread cream cheese sandwich," while THE HOTEL HIGASHIYAMA will sell "Kyoto crumbly cookies (canned)."

Some stores had long lines, but KYOTO TOKYU HOTEL Hotel was able to handle them efficiently thanks to their familiarity with the normal operations. They sold out by mid-afternoon without making customers wait. All the participating associates felt a sense of accomplishment when they sold out. Not only did they make a profit that day, but they also received many smiles and words of gratitude, which made their participation in the event even more meaningful.

The Kyoto Bread Festival is scheduled to be held on September 28th and 29th this year, and preparations for our participation are already underway. We will be selling menus created by our chefs with all their skill. We look forward to seeing you there!
