MATSUE EXCEL HOTEL TOKYU 's Sustainable Initiatives
TOKYU HOTELS has established three sustainability goals (visions) - "Hotels that are kind to the earth, hotels that are kind to the city, and hotels that are kind to people" - and six key sustainability themes (themes that we will focus on among social issues) as its sustainability policy. With a deep awareness of the perspective of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), we are contributing to the realization of a "sustainable society" through our hotel business.
An eco-friendly hotel
★Through Green Coin, we will contribute to global environmental issues together with our customers.
The Green Coin aims to reduce the burden on the global environment by reducing the amount of toothbrushes, razors, and other items used daily at hotels.
If you do not use the eligible amenities, please drop your Green Coin into the coin collection box at the front desk to be used as a fund for environmental conservation activities.
★Introducing toothbrushes using water from aluminum cans and Kaneka's biodegradable biopolymer Green Planet®
・In consideration of environmental issues, we have changed the bottled water provided to guests from plastic bottles to aluminum cans (we use aluminum cans, a reusable material).
"Natural mineral water"
The water is taken from 250m underground in Kitsuki City Oita. Natural water from the Kanagoe mountain range Oita is used.
From June 2022
・The toothbrush (handle) uses Kaneka's 100% plant-derived biodegradable polymer Green Planet®, which has been confirmed to be biodegradable in seawater. Green Planet® contributes to solving the problem of marine pollution.

★Reducing food waste: 3010 (Sanmaruichimaru) campaign
This campaign, promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, aims to reduce food waste at banquets by encouraging people to remain seated and enjoy their food for 30 minutes after the toast, and then return to their seats and enjoy their food again 10 minutes before the banquet closes.

★ Utilizing underutilized fish
We utilize fish that would normally be thrown away or have low market value and incorporate them into our menu.
Examples of initiatives: Ragfish and seafood gratin, stingray butter saute, etc.
★Sustainable wine
We offer wines that are produced with consideration for the environment and society, and that implement various "sustainable" initiatives to preserve the natural environment and people's lives as much as possible.
