The Former Hokkaido Government Office Building, with its impressive brick exterior, was built in 1888, modeled on the Massachusetts State House in the United States. Some people enjoy strolling around the gardens and pond, while others enjoy sketching. You can tour the building for free, so why not take a look at Hokkaido's ancient documents in the archives?

This was the site of the 90m-class ski jump (now the large hill) at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. The observation lounge, located 300m above sea level and higher than the ski jump, offers a panoramic view of Sapporo city and the Ishikari Plain. The adjacent Sapporo Winter Sports Museum has historical materials related to winter sports and allows visitors to experience a simulated ski jumping experience. The most popular attraction is the jump simulator (a simulated ski jumping experience). Some visitors take commemorative photos of the board showing the jump distance.
