STREAM ART COLLECTION
We will collaborate with local artists associated with Hokkaido to create a space full of originality. We have scattered their works throughout the hotel to bring the fragrance of the culture, art, history, and nature of Hokkaido to the guests who visit the hotel from the pioneer days to the present and the future, as well as to share them with the rest of the world and further interest in the hotel. We hope that guests will take pictures with the artworks and display them in their travel memories.

This work was created by manipulating the shapes of the majestic scenery of Hokkaido that he has seen since his childhood and the memories he has sunk into. In doing so, he suspended the clear meaning of the shapes and their mutual relationships, thereby attempting to visualize what could be called the "gap" between form and image. The pop and decorative colors and collages further create a "gap" between the vulgar and the sublime, the familiar and the utopian. The colorful use of colors, reminiscent of the neon lights of Susukino, adds color to the space.

Leo Fujisawa "Windbreak"
- place
-
7F behind the reception
Windbreaks have protected agriculture and logistics in Hokkaido and created the landscape of the land. The rows of trees are a symbol of development and a powerful icon that visualizes the frontier spirit. Between nature and man-made nature. Amid the snowy fields, the windbreaks shining in the slowly rising morning sun are expressed as an iconic Hokkaido landscape.
A trick you'll see if you look closer
An iconic presence of the hotel that gives guests a sense of surprise and familiarity
Tomohiro Shibuki "The Father of Development - Kimun Kamuy (God of the Mountain)"
- place
-
7F In front of reception
The Ainu people have revered bears as "Kimui Kamuy (mountain gods)" with reverence. When the Tokugawa clan of the former Owari domain emigrated and developed the area in the Meiji period, Tokugawa Yoshichika visited Bern, Switzerland, and saw wooden carved bears made during the farming off-season, which became the origin of modern-day wooden bear carvings in Hokkaido. The wooden carved bears supported the lives of pioneers and are truly grateful mountain gods. This work is a trick art-like piece in which the wooden carved bear, now a souvenir symbolizing Hokkaido, is made to look as if it were made of hard wood, but when you get closer you can see that it is actually a soft object made of colored wool. The salmon being held in the mouth is given a pink accent color, giving it commonality with other art, and making it a catchy and symbolic piece of artwork.
