The History of TOKYU HOTELS

1959

February

In light of the importance of international tourism in Japan and the expected future increase in foreign tourists, Tokyu International Hotel Co., Ltd. was established with the aim of operating the Ginza TOKYU HOTEL and developing international-class hotels throughout the country.

1960

The first hotel under the TOKYU HOTEL brand, Ginza TOKYU HOTEL opens (closed in 2001) [Founding Anniversary]

SHIMODA TOKYU HOTEL opens

1963

Tokyo Hilton Hotel opens under contract with Hilton Hotels International

TOKYU HOTEL Chain Co., Ltd. was established with the aim of unifying the management of Tokyu hotels into a chain.
