The neighboring Hie Shrine boasts a history of approximately 600 years, and is a prestigious shrine revered as the guardian deity of the Imperial Palace today, and as the guardian deity of the Shogun family during the Edo period. Since the hotel opened in 1963, the two have woven a history together in Sanno Forest for 56 years. It is a place with deep ties, as many hotel guests come to worship there for weddings and family celebrations.
