Japanese restaurant "Suiren" Head Chef Takashi Furuya
Japanese Restaurant Suiren that symbolizes traditional Japanese hospitality. Takashi Furuya, who became the second head chef at Suiren this month, was seconded from the hotel and served as the official chef at the Japanese Embassy in the United States for about a year.
"Every time you visit Suiren, you will encounter the richness of Japan's seasonal cuisine, and I always strive to create menus that will provide fresh surprises all year round. Furthermore, while inheriting traditional Japanese cuisine, it is also necessary to evolve so that we can meet the diverse needs of vegetarians and others. As head chef, I will work closely with the teppanyaki, sushi, and tempura counters to strive to provide even greater satisfaction to our customers."
Profile: Takashi Furuya
Born Tokyo. At the age of 20, he started working at Nadaman and continued his training, before joining THE CAPITOL HOTEL TOKYU in 2010. In 2018, he was seconded to the Japanese Embassy in Washington DC as the official residence chef. He returned to Japan in 2021 and returned to Japanese Restaurant Suiren. In the same year, he received the Minister of Foreign Affairs Award as the "Outstanding Official Residence Chef." He will assume his current position from May 2023.
