What is "Shibuya Noh"?
Shibuya Noh, a popular event that began in 2019 and is now in its sixth year, brings together young Noh performers from different schools of Noh, a performing art with a history of about 650 years, in Shibuya. This year, four performances will be held from Friday, July 26, 2024 to Friday, March 7, 2025.
A pre-show lecture will be held from the first to third nights, with the Noh actor himself as the lecturer. In addition, the multilingual subtitle system "Noh Support" will be installed, which will allow beginners and foreign visitors to view useful explanations for Noh appreciation on a tablet.
Please keep an eye on the future of Noh and the growth of the young Noh performers who will be at the heart of it.
